Don't let the concept of change scare you as much as the the prospect of remaining unhappy.

Mission Statement

As a physical therapist, I aspire to empower independence in my patients to help them grow. I embody a leader who advocates and demonstrates health and well being. I serve my patients with an inclusive spirit and an open mind. As well as, adapting to diverse people, diagnosis, abilities, situations, and environments.

  • On birthdays, special occasions and discharge I will send my patients a card acknowledging the event and/or following up with their progress

  • Attend one extra course a year beyond requirements of continuing education

  • Complete a certification in a specialty (neurology or women's health) by my 5th year of practice

When reflecting on my mission statement my core values didn't change but my view and connection with them developed. I choose these values because I felt they related to my personal life and career as a physical therapist. I created goals to achieve during my academic journey and time in the clinic. I worked on making patients feel included, accepted and heard. During my last clinical, I wrote patients a card on their last day to encourage them in their future endeavors and express my gratitude of working with them. I will continue to keep this value and standard in my practice as a physical therapist, to cultivate a welcoming and inclusive environment.

I have always valued health and viewed it from a physical stand point. I have since learned the other two key componets. My journey has brought more light to health related to mental and social well being, through my curriculum and extra curricular experiences. This will translate to the future by addressing the whole person (cure personals). As a physical therapist I will provide resources for my patients to regain not only their physical health but social and emotional.
